The break of The Corrs

After selling more than 40 million of their albums across the world, the Corrs took a little break in 2005. Nevertheless, that album, puts them among the most successful and renowned Irish band even in this modern age. During the 1990s and the early part of the 2000s, this talented siblings from Ireland became a household name. Their best hits including “Dreams”, “Breathless”, and “Runaway”, all from the “The Wedding Date” album and others made a hit and became very popular within some few days or weeks of their release. These songs were a hit and sent the band skyrocketing with popularity and fame around the world. These songs and others culminated into over 60 million sales which gave them many global musical awards.

Why the breakup

The group revealed, through Sharon’s latest interview that there are things they cherish in their family life and those are some of the things that drive them forward. Surprisingly, they decided to give up their careers to support what is truly important and matters to them. This is a very good inspiration as it is not easy to give up all the success, prestige, and worldly recognition in the name of ‘the bigger picture or the greater good’.

The 2016 comeback of The  Corrs

This iconic group from Irish reunited to a hit-packed performance at BBC Radio 2. A lot of fans awaits this moment. The group seem to be very happy to have come back healthy and lively as before. They also seem to be satisfied with the way they are being welcomed, especially by their most staunch fans. The group seem to be very excited about their comeback record, especially with Jim vehemently holding the view that the time of the comeback was a perfect timing for the band.

The sudden departure of their 82-year old cherished father, Gerry Corr reunited the group in 2015. Their father’s funeral grounds was the first time since their breakup they were seen singing again. Their song for that funeral was made to honor their lovely father. This song is no doubt, part of their newly released 2016 album, White Light. This is not their first tribute song as they already had another one in 2004 by title “Angel”, which was meant for their mother, Jean Coor, who died in 1999 at the age of 57.

It also is a fact that in beginning this band was not very well received but they built up their positive reputation in a short span afterwards. Pop Music has always been my weakness in a way that it gets into my soul from beginning till the end.
